One of the most common questions I get is: "WHEN IS IT TOO WINDY TO PADDLE?". The real answer to the question always depends of course on your skills and correct use of the technique for paddling in windy conditions. Days with wind between MODERATE and STRONG are excellent to understand how much each knot or kilometer changes the challenge to your paddling. I like this handy table from the Met Service, based on the Beaufort Scale to help make sense of forecast and numbers. Always check the wind with apps like WindFinder and Windy. If you are a beginner and never had a lesson with an experienced instructor I recommend avoiding anything above 10km/h and always paddle against the wind first and come back with the wind on your back. Fun & safe paddle adventures!!
